summer day trip

Bit of a different and random post today... been as it is getting into summer and everyone goes out for  the day, I thought I would show you what I take with me on a summer's day out!

First up you will need a bag to put everything in because otherwise you are going to be carrying a lot of stuff! I just have a black leather (probably fake) bag from Primark - just a cheap £10 bag perfect for carrying all your bits and bobs!

IMPORTANT ALERT - THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!!!! Snacks to keep you going - and obviously some water! These are my favourite things - Terry's chocolate oranges and Volvic strawberry water. Best things ever but make sure the chocolate doesn't melt!

If its really hot you are probably going to get a bit sticky and smelly so carry a spray around to freshen up - I think the perfect summery scents are from Hollister!

Again, if you have spent a whole day out, you might be going for a meal on the way home. By this time, the makeup has more or less melted off your face and your looking a bit of a mess. What do you need! mascara and lip balm! The easiest thing to make you look a whole lot nicer!

Knowing the English weather, you are most likely not guaranteed a full day of sun so it is probably best to take a hoodie! This is my go-to hoody as it is quite light to carry (this was not sponsored by Hollister I just love their stuff!)

However, it couldn't turn out to be really hot so in that case you need suncream! You can't tell from the picture but this is a really small bottle which is perfect to squeeze in a bag.

Finally, with all hopes high, you will need to take a hat and sunglasses for the scorching weather that probably won't happen! I picked both of these up really cheap from Primark and they seem to do the trick.

I hope this was helpful and you enjoy the summer...
See you all soon Xxx

chocolate chip cookies

Seems like everyone liked my baking post last week so I decided to do another! This is a step by step guide on how to make chocolate chip cookies.

You will need 1 egg, 150g of chocolate (or chocolate chips), 3tbsp of cocoa powder, 100g butter, 75g of caster sugar, 75 grams of brown / demera sugar and 225g of plain flour.

Mix together the 2 sugars and the butter until smooth and then add the whisked egg, baking powder and gradually stir in the flour.

Next add your cocoa powder and stir so the mixture sticks together like shown in the picture.

If you have a bar of chocolate like I did, cut them into smallish chunks and stir in, otherwise just pour in your chocolate chips and mix! If you have big chunks, you will get mouthfuls of melted chocolates through the cookie.. mmmm!

Put them into golf ball size circles and spread them out on the baking tray. You can have big ones or little ones, just make sure they are even. I made 15 cookies.

Cook them for around 15 minutes at 180 degrees celcius and put them onto a cooling rack.

This is what you end up with! You can see the little pouches of melted chocolate.. and they taste amaaaaaazing! Have fun baking!

make up bag - travel

It's me! Today i am going back to a beauty post and showing you what I take with me when I go over night somewhere. This could be going on holiday or stopping at a friends- these are basically my essentials and thought I would share them with you!

I would put all of this in any makeup bag but to be honest, my favourite make up bags are actually from Primark- they are really pretty!

Skin Care. I get a lot of dry skin around my nose and eyes and the only thing that seems to do the trick for me is Simple.. no expensive brands but this seems to work. I just use the moisturiser and the wipes every night and it really helps.

(sorry for the bad photo quality) I will obviously take a foundation and concealer. At the moment I am loving the Rimmel Wake me up foundation and Collections Lasting Perfection concealer. I have these in fairly light tones so I can wear products like bronzer.

These are like my extra "face" bits. I will take my No7 pressed powder, Collection Bronze Glow and Natural Collection blusher. Yes they aren't the most expensive brands but these products really suit my skin and looks natural.

I will not go anywhere without this. My eyebrows define my whole face. It is my Barry M brow kit Shape and Define. Amazing stuff. Love it...

I would probably take 2 lipsticks because it depends how I am feeling whether I want a bold lip or a subtle lip. So I would take my Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick and my MAC lipstick which are really contrasting shades but it depends on my outfit... and mood!

For my eyes I would take my Benefit They're Real mascara and a simple Collection Extreme felt tip liner. I use these daily and also use Sally Hansen eyelash curlers.

Just in case I would take my Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette if I want to a more adventurous eye look or to give it a subtle shimmer.

rainbow butterfly cupcakes

Been as I am starting to get more views etc. on this blog I have decided to start doing some different types of post. As you may guess from the title I am doing a baking tutorial on how to make rainbow butterfly cupcakes- these are really yummy and look cute!
You need to get 3 eggs, 180g stork butter, 180g self raising flour, 180g caster sugar, vanilla extract or essence, cupcake cases, 4 food colourings, 175g icing sugar and an extra 75g of stork for the buttercream. Weight out all your ingredients and put them into a mixer (except icing sugar, food colourings and the extra stork).

If you don't have a mixer (mine is Andrew James), put them into a mixing bowl and mix by a hand mixer or just use a wooden spoon.

(Just a picture of all the ingredients I used...)

Wait until your mixture looks creamy and is quite thick and then separate equally into 4 bowls.

Take your food colourings (I recommend red, yellow, green and blue) and dye each separate bowl of mixture a different colour until it is all blended.

Put 12 cupcake cases into a tray. Put a spoonful of each mixture (from the separate bowls) into each cupcake case evenly. You can leave it layered so the colouring is neat or you can stick a cocktail stick in and swirl it around so the colours all mix around.. I think this looks better.

Cook your cupcake for 20 - 25 minutes around 180 degrees celsius (fan oven) and put them on a cooling rack. Once there are cold, getting a nice and cut a circle into the middle of the cake (about half way down) and cut the circle in half - these are the butterfly wings.

Create your buttercream by putting the stork and icing sugar into a mixer and blending till it is creamy. Put a spoonful into the wholes of the cake and stick your "wings" in the cream.

Ta - Da! your finished cakes should look like this! Enjoy, hope you liked this different type of post.

homeware haul

I haven't done a haul for ages! The last haul I did was a while ago so now here is a homeware haul for you all. I'm also still trying out backgrounds so bare with me on that one.

This candle literally just smells like summer. It is so fruity (uhh yes its pomegranate haha) and the colour is also really pretty! It is an Essence of Nature candle by Victoria Meredith which I brought from a card shop and there is another Apple one in the range which is also GORGEOUS!

I apologise as I don't know which shop I got this from, it was just a cute little Vintage shop in a little village which I can't remember the name off. Its just a little beige spotty door stop which is just tied together with string. Its just cute. And I liked it. So I brought it.

This is from the same little vintage shop which I don't know the name off but it is like a wooden white heart with a little bow to hang it. It hangs on my bed post and it looks really sweet.

Bit random, I apologise (and another background) but this is just a little plant that I found in Wilkinsons and it was only £5! I love this and it looks really cute in the pot. This haul is so random..

My final thing isn't homeware and the picure is rubbish and I don't know why I am even putting this on but I didn't want just 4 items.. so I found a little MAC shop and accidentally brought a load of stuff that I didn't really need. Whoopsiee...

perfume collection

Never done one of these posts before but today I am doing my favourite perfumes out of my collection. They may not be to your taste but these are my faves..

Also, I am currently trying different backgrounds for the next few posts and deciding what I like most so bear with me and let me know which backgrounds you like!

Probably for about 3 years this was my all time favourite perfume so I had to put it in. Its the Next Just Pink and is around £12. I love this so much! It is sort of fruity but it also has like a flowery kind of scent I guess? Perfumes are hard to describe haha.

I really like Hollister Crescent Bay (£12). This smell always reminds me of being on holiday and by the beach and lounging around in the sea... ahhh. Another perfume I like is the Beyoncè Heat perfume which my friend brought me for Christmas. I would probably class this as a wintery scent.. don't know why but thats what it smells like.. winter! (if thats a smell)

This is my current favourite perfume. It is the New Look Pure Dusk perfume. I don't know when New Look brought out their perfume range (they have 4) which are all "pure ...." but this one and Pure Touch are sooo nice! They are really flowery (?!) and they smell lush!

This is probably my most expensive favourite and the most frequent one I have brought- Daisy Dream from Marc Jacobs. This smells soooo good. It is pricey but it is really nice and so is the bottle. (Yes you can see my camera and hands in the bottle lid reflection.. whoops!)

I display my perfumes on a white floating shelf on the corner of my room and they look really pretty and dainty. I have a slight obsession.

nail polishes

Right before I start I'm just letting you know that from now on, this is my new blog format. Nice big pictures to look at and not so much rambling writing to read! Also, I will be writing all my posts every Saturday and scheduling them for Saturday, Tuesday and Thursdays so you will always have an updated post from me. Now I've said that, here are my fave nail varnishes..

Barry M nail varnishes hold my favourite spot. They are basically brilliant! I have so many different colours of these and they hardly ever chip and stay on for a long time.

Maybelline Colour Show. These have such a lovely consistency and the colours are really pretty. I don't have as many of these but I should probably go and buy some more.. whoops?!

Seveneteen nail varnishes are so pretty! They have loads of different types, in the picture you can see a Fast Finish nail varnish and a Lasting Fix nail varnish- and they smell nice hehe.

Sally Hansen. Most of my nail varnishes from Sally Hansen are old and are in a bad condition (note picture) and I know that the bottle has changed now. I'm not the biggest fan on Sally Hansen like some people are but their long lasting ones are really good.

I have a lot of Collection nail varnishes but the BEDAZZLED collection (collection from Collection haha) are my favourite type, these are really pretty and I also love the bottle!

Miss Sporty nail varnishes are so cheap but they still have an amazing quality! I think its the best brand for money- they have loads of different types and the colours are lovely. These are probably nearly as good as Barry M nail varnishes!

I thought I would finish off with showing you how I store my nail varnishes. I brought a huge candle jar (I mean huge) and filled it with all my nail varnishes and have it on a shelf. I think it looks a lot nicer then shoving them all in a box under your bed!

March favourites

Whoops! This post is well overdue but I had sort of forgotten about my blog! Should be back up and running now I have reached 700 views, thankyouuuu. So here are my March favourites- slightly a different format but here you go...

I absolutely adore the Barry M Brow Kit shape and define. This is literally been my holy grail of the whole month. Usually I use a pencil to fill and shape my brows but I have been using this gel / powder pack and it is great! The only bad thing is that it only comes in one shade which is quite dark brown so don't get it if your blonde haha..

The skin I have been loving is No 7 Triple protection tinted moisturiser in fair. This has got quite a low coverage so it is nice if you don't want to wear a bit thick layer of make up. It gives your skin quite a glow and also has spf 15, its getting hotter so it pays off.

Yes i know Easter was the beginning of April but by the time I get round to doing my April favourites no one will care about Easter so I am putting it in March! I managed to complete lent and enjoyed eating loads of chocolate aha.

THIS PRODUCT IS SO AMAZING! Benefit They're Real! Get it! Now! IT IS SO GOOD! My eyelashes look literally double their size with this. I love the formula, the brush, the packaging.. basically everything about it! If you are running out or unable to find a good mascara then look no further! This is the one!

My final favourite of the month has to be Lush. I went into a shop (we don't have one where I live) and accidentally brought loads! My favourite one for colour that I brought was "Granny Take's a Dip" bath bomb! My favourite for smell was "space girl".

Hope you enjoyed this different type of blogpost. I generally enjoyed doing this style format a lot more than my old one so I think I will do it like this for now on. Happy blogging!
