top 5 lipsticks

The last time I did a post like this was right at the start of when I was writing and did "my foundations" (you can read that HERE) and I haven't really done anything else like it. So I thought I would go along the same lines as that and do a lipsticks one but do my top 5!

In first place is probably my Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 09. I LOVE THIS!! It is a deep red / berry shade and looks really nice all year round. It has a really nice consistency and feels nice when you apply it on the lips. It is quite silky but also almost a matte quality as it stays on for the majority of the day. Bit weird, but it also smells amazing! I have a lot of Kate Moss lipsticks and I love them all but this probably has to be my favourite. If you have a spare £6 ish I would probably get this lipstick.

Next up is the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick in the shade Pink Pearl (about £7). The texture of this lipstick is AMAZING! As you can see from the picture I don't have much left! It is really silky however looks dryed when you have put it on. I also really like the packaging of this lipstick and the lid also never falls off. There are again a lot of shades in this formula but it is just lovely.

This is probably my favourite shade of lipstick. It is the Maybelline Super Stay 14 hour lipstick in Endless Raisin. Firstly, the shade is a really cute name! The formula is really creamy and soft on your lips and is only about £7. It twists up in a diagonal way so you use one side more than the other so it becomes easier and easier to apply. I have a few different shades of this but Endless Raisin is by far my favourite. I think you would like it.

Thought I would throw a high end brand lipstick in- I wrote about
this lipstick before when it was my favourite (hadn't discovered my Kate Moss 09!!) which you can look at HERE. It is the MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo lipstick (A45). This is a bit of an unusual shade for me as it such a bright red and I tend to wear the more berry colours. It is very very matte and creamy and well, I dunno, I just love it! It is more expensive (about £16) but you can definitely tell the difference between qualities!

Finally, more of a recent favourite is the Collection Cream Puff in Candy Floss. It is not really a lipstick but it looks like you are wearing one. It is a lip cream and stays on really well. I have to also mention, this smells GORGEOUS! Seriously, if it was a candle it would be my favourite! Better yet, it is £3!!! It is such a good value for money! I would say the consistency is just as good as the Maybelline ones which are £7-8. If you are running low of cash, I would get this without a second thought!

So those are my favourite lipsticks. They are all lovely and remember there are other shades to suit your skin. Hope you enjoyed.

february favourites

I can't believe that 2 months of the year have finished! It literally feels like a week since I was doing January favourites! Anyway, its time for February favourites...

My first favourite (which I haven't got a picture for) is going jogging! I wasn't really a sport person but since Lent has started, I have sort of gone on a major health kick! I have stopped eating loads of rubbish and started going running three or four times a week. I have actually been really enjoying it and feel really proud when I have been. My dog also loves coming with me and he keeps me company!

I have been loving the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation recently and have probably used it near enough every day in February. As you all know, usually I wear No7 Stay Perfect Foundation but someone told me how much they loved this so I thought I would give it a try. I brought this in True Ivory which is a bit light for my skin tone but I needed a slightly lighter foundation anyway as it was approaching spring. It makes your face look shiny (in a nice way) and gives it a sparkly glow. It does actually give a "airbrush" effect and the bottle is also really nice!

Another product on my favourites is Simple Purifying Cleansing lotion. I know Simple isn't really a top end brand but I absolutely love it and was also featured in my post called Spoil Me Sunday (which you can read HERE). From the cold weather, I started to develop some really dry skin patches around my nose, eyes and forehead and was starting to ruin my makeup. I started using this every night and has really made a difference! I forgot to put it on for JUST one night and my dry skin came back! This is seriously a miracle worker and very cheap- I absolutely love it!

Another skin / beauty product which I have really enjoyed using is the Sleek Contour kit! I mentioned that I wanted to buy this in my MAKEUP WISHLIST and later brought it. I have it in medium and it really gives a three dimensional aspect to your face so that you don't appear flat and boring when you have your foundation on. I have been using the dark powder down my cheekbones which really make them stand out and the lighter as a highlighter underneath my eyes and down my nose. It is quite matte and is also pretty cheap! I have definitely become a Sleek Lover and joined the crew.

Weirdly enough, I realised that I didn't actually have a Bronzer in my collection! So around the end of January I decided that I really needed one but didn't want to spend a lot of money incase it didn't suit me or it was the wrong shade. I picked up the Collection Bronze Glow Shimmer in medium. THIS IS AMAZING! It has a subtle glitter in it which gives you a really pretty complexion and really complements the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation as your skin really does glow and looks really healthy. Just realised nearly all these favourites are skin related.. oh well!

Finally, a really random and odd favourite but I have been loving The Sims 3! Yes I know that there is now the Sims 4 but I really like this one and the Sims 4 is quite expensive. I have been playing it so much and I just really like designing houses and making cute little people! I have also been watching people like Alfie Deyes and "Zoella" (her blog is HERE) play on Youtube which is really interesting and funny to see how other people do it and how they design their lives. Don't know why I love it so much.. I am just addicted! If you are creative, this is a must have.

So those are all my favourites- mainly skin related and a few random and I will hopefully being posting more again now!

Selena Gomez

Wasn't too sure on what to write about today. But then I decided I would join the crowd and do a celebrity inspired make up tutorial! I think Selena Gomez always has really nice makeup so I chose her. I am doing one of her smokey eyed looks as it has inspired my own makeup styles!

This picture sort of shows how her main face looks. She is usually quite tanned and highlighted. So. Firstly I would cover your main face with a tan / beige coloured foundation and around the neck. Next you need a REALLY good highlighter! Put a lot under your eyes and your cheeks up to your cheek bone. Do a line down the nose and then the middle of your forehead. Next, take a very dark powder, foundation of contour kit and outline your jawline and your cheekbone. You now need to take a contouring brush and blend it all in. Start at the highlighted section (under your eyes) and work outwards to the dark jaw line. After it is all blended, make sure that if you have spots you do your best to cover them as Selena always has flawless skin. Finally apply pinkish blusher to the apples of your cheeks
and you could even add some very fine glitter!

Selena's eyebrows are always really neat. They don't have a massive arc like some celebrities but they do curve slightly at the end. If you have light eyebrows, make sure you fill them in to quite a dark brown. Make them fairly straight and curve at the very end. Her lips are either a really light pink or they are a really dark red! There is no in between! I would say she wears a light colour more often so I would wear that for this look She also always has a glossy finish so make sure you wear lipgloss.

Start off with colouring your bottom waterline in a black kohl pencil to make them stand out. Then apply a light eyeshadow as a base and also where your eyebrow starts (a primer first). Use a light brown eyeshadow and cover that over your whole eye. Then blend much darker tone into the crease and up in a straight line from the corner of the eye. Apply a glittery gold over the majority of the eyelid until it reaches the light cream you used on your brow bone earlier. Take an eyeliner and at the end of your eye, draw a long flick until it nearly reaches your eyebrow. Bring it down towards your eye quite thickly, thinning towards the inner corner of your eye. Then smudge this out and perhapsuse some black eyeshadow slightly above it to finish it off!
Finally, either curl your eyelashes and wear clumpy mascara or wear fake ones.

Thats how I would do a Selena Gomez tutorial! I would either wave my hair or scrape it back into a very tight pony! These are the products I would use:

o NARS Sheer Glow Foundation - Stromboli - £31
o Benefit Hight Beam Concealer - £19.50
o Sleek contour kit - Dark - £8
o No7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder- £11.50
o Soap and Glory Brow Archery - £10
o MAC lipstick - Sunny Seoul or Shy Girl - £15.50
o MAC Clear Lipglass - £14.50
o Soap and Glory Lid Stuff - Nudes - £10
o Maybelline Gel Eyeliner pen - Black- £8.99
o Urban Decay Naked - 3 - £36
o Benefit Better Than Sex mascara - Black - £18
(eyelash curlers - Sally Hansen - £3)

DIY beauty gifts

Slightly random, but I thought I would share with you some really easy DIY beauty gifts. Say you have your best mates birthday coming up and your a bit short of cash, these are the perfect gifts which you can easily make yourself and look really good! So here are 5 simple and cheap gift ideas for you to do...

First is a Body butter. This is a Whipped Coconut Body Butter which only really uses 1 ingredient and takes about 10 minutes to do! You need to get a cup of coconut oil and pour into a mixer (or you can whip by hand). Then leave it to mix on the highest setting for 6-8 minutes (or use a whisk for around 10 minutes) until it is light and fluffy. Put it in a bowl and cover tightly in the fridge for 1 hour. To make it look nice put it in a pretty container or pretty jar and label it. Done!

Another easy gift to make is a body or foot scrub. I am making a Peppermint foot scrub (also could be used as a great Christmas gift!). Take about 2 cups of white sugar and mix with half a cup of vegetable oil. Add a few drops of peppermint oil (usually in baking sections of supermarkets) and some food colouring (if you want to). Mix it all together till it looks like the picture. Again, put it in a nice jar and label it. These look really cute. You could do stripes colours too!

Another really easy gift are hair bows. You will need to purchase some fabric (or use old t-shirts etc that you don't need) and some grips/ barrettes. You could also use ribbon instead of fabric. Cut the fabric into a long strip and simply tie a bow of any shape or size. If you have a hot glue gun, glue the grip to the bottom of the bow and leave it upside down to set (leave until you can't move it). If not you will have to use normal liquid glue and leave it for a while (overnight) until it sets. A glue gun is your best chance of it staying still.

Another really easy one that takes about 5 minutes are Braided bracelets (or friendship bracelets). Find 3 different coloured pieces of wool or ribbon and make equal length strips. Knot them together at the end and sellotape to the end of a table. Plait these together and then make a loopy knot at the end (you could do a fishtail plait if you find it easier). That could be it. Or if you wanted to, make another 2 of these and then plait all of them together to make a thicker bracelet which I found looked nicer. Pick colours that go together and look nice. Make as many as you want!

Finally, a DIY bubble bath.  I made a Vanilla and honey bubble bath. Mix together a cup of vegetable or sunflower oil, half a cup of honey, a tablespoon of vanilla extract, and a cup of liquid soap (just a cheap brand from Tesco's or whatever). Mix these until they form a nice runny liquid and you could add a food colouring if you wanted. Pour the mixture into a jar, bottle or container which you can decorate or label. Any liquid leftover... use it yourself! It is lovely.

Those are all my easy and cheap gift ideas which I hope you have a go at making! They are fun to make and also look really nice and pretty. Perfect for a friend or family member when you need a present. 10th post today wooo!

spoil me sunday

In my opinion, Sundays are a perfect opportunity to have a pamper sesh! They are the best excuse to have a relaxing evening before you go back to work or school. So I decided I would tell you what I do for my pamper time, or as I call it...
 SPOIL ME SUNDAY!!

Ok so first I would run a really nice hot bath. I would either put in Sanctuary Foaming Creamy Bath Soak if I want a nice bubble bath as this creates really nice bubbles; or I would use Next Just Pink bath caviar (salts) which smell absolutely gorgeous. Or I could use either a Lush bath bomb or 1-2 chunks of a Zoella Fizz Bar which are actually some on the nicest bath bombs I have ever tried as they fizzle really nice haha. I wouldn't use them all together though because sometimes salts can destroy any bubbles!

I would then obviously wash my hair. I have been loving TRESemmè Deep Cleasing shampoo as it smells really nice and also makes your hair bouncy. If you used the Sanctuary bubble bath, I would now use Sanctuary Cleansing Burst Body Wash. This smells the same as the other one and has little bits of glitter in! But if you used the bath crystals, I would now use Next Just Pink shower gel. However, use whatever you like and whatever you like the smell of.

I think it is really important to take care of your skin so it is easier to apply natural makeup etc. If you have been out on Saturday night or you have worn makeup throughout the week this is the perfect time to make your face clean and fresh again. I love Simple products so I would use these. If I have been out during the day then I will remove my makeup with simple makeup wipes which are about £3 and really nice quality. Then I will apply Simple Purifying Skin Lotion which is again about £3 which is really good for dry skin.

Once you are out the bath and snuggly in your jammies or onezee go and make yourself a hot chocolate (or a latte / cappuccino.. whatever you fancy). I always use Cadburys drinking chocolate with whipped cream on top and marshmallows (but we have ran out). Tip- Warm up a cup of hot milk in the microwave and then put the chocolate powder in that.. it tastes so much nicer than water! By the way.. how cute is this mug!

Next is a bit of a pamper session! Put on a face mask, either from a tube or a packet- whatever is your favourite, and then sit and let that warm up or whatever it does. If you want to you could now paint your nails. I usually go for either browns purples or pinks but do what takes your fancy. Take your time, enjoy it. Don't forget to take your mask off though!

To finish off your evening and to relax before you go to bed, turn off your lights, find a lamp or some fairy lights and get in bed. You could light some candles to make the room smell nice and then choose a film- I prefer rom-coms or easy-watch films but choose films you enjoy! Cuddle up with your hot chocolate and stick the DVD in your laptop. Also, a bit of chocolate or popcorn doesn't hurt! Enjoy..

Have a nice Sunday and make sure you all relax!
